Senior Kindergarten Team

Kathleen Bauer

bio_bauer.jpgA teacher for nearly 30 years, Kathleen strives to foster love, connection and follow through in Rossman’s Senior Kindergarten classroom. “When students are safe, settled and structured, they are free to learn and develop,” she says.

Kathleen is also an adjunct professor of education at a local university, an opportunity that allows her to share her passion for teaching with aspiring educators as well as keep up with trends in education.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Kathleen has a heart for serving her community. Married for more than 25 years, she and her husband conduct seminars on a variety of marriage and family-related topics and Kathleen shares her musical gifts with a local retirement community as a soloist for various events. The couple also supports Haven of Grace, Foundation Fighting Blindness, Guns ’N Hoses (Backstoppers), and St. Louis Arc.

Kathleen loves singing, reading, cooking, biking, and cheering on the Cardinals. She has attended MLB games with her husband and son in more than half of the stadiums across the U.S. and hopes to complete their grand tour someday.

Lauren Brody

bio_brody.jpgA mother of two, Lauren remembers sitting at her desk one day in second grade, looking up at her teacher and thinking, “That is exactly what I want to do when I grow up.” Today she aims to share with Rossman’s Senior Kindergarteners the joy of learning that her own teachers instilled in her.

Lauren endeavors to provide her students a loving and positive learning environment where they feel safe to take risks and know it is OK to make mistakes. She is elated by the happiness on her students’ faces when they have understood a new idea or solved a challenging problem.

Having focused her graduate studies on educational technology and earned a computer endorsement credential with her Bachelors, Lauren uses her expertise to strategically integrate technology into the SK curriculum. She also is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Outside of school, Lauren enjoys visiting St. Louis attractions with her family and rediscovering each one through the eyes of her two children. She also likes to ice-skate and is well on her way to accomplishing her goal of visiting each of the 50 states.

Jill Morris

bio_morris.jpgA Birmingham, Alabama native, Jill brings more than three decades of education experience to Rossman’s Senior Kindergarten classroom. Her passion for children developed as a young girl babysitting and assisting with Sunday school classes. Jill learned early, “If you love children and make them feel comfortable, they will love learning with you.”

A mother of two sons, Jill enjoys nothing more than visiting with her five grandchildren. However, her Rossman students also are extremely close to her heart. Her affection for them even brought her back to teaching after five short years of retirement from 2000 to 2005.

Jill and her husband have been active with Foundation Fighting Blindness since 2008, when one of their grandsons was diagnosed with retinal disease. Each year, the couple helps host the St. Louis Vision Walk and a Dark Dinner for the cause.
