Kicking Off the Year with Softer Steps and Soccer Success

Physical Education has had a fantastic beginning to the 2016-2017 school year. Students enjoyed the “spongy” new track surface in P. E. classes their first day. It not only looks really nice but it also feels softer when running or walking. The new track along with the improved long jump pit (the big sand box to the JK and SK students) and soccer field make for quite a picturesque scene from the top of the hill by the school.

Speaking of the soccer field, Rossman School hosted the annual Invitational Soccer tournament for our consortium of independent schools September 24. Seven schools participated, including Rossman’s fifth and sixth grade team. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm (ok … it was pretty hot but still a pleasant day). Rossman had the largest team with over 25 players participating throughout the day. Ours was an enthusiastic bunch, giving every game their all. We ended the day with a very respectable record of 3 wins, 1 tie and 1 loss. We are proud of all the children who participated and grateful to their parents for bringing them.

Overall, the day was great and the year is off to a fantastic start.
